Ready for some challenge? Ready for some pleasure? Ready for some charity?
The Department of British Studies invites everyone, students, colleagues, friends and family alike to join their running team “Angolos Agarak” and participate in the traditional, annual Santa Claus Charity Run. Doing so, you will do three things at a stroke:
1. face a challenge: run (or walk) altogether 1100 ms on the running track around Nagyerdei Stadion at 5.30 p.m. on 6 December;
2. enjoy the pleasures of the Acquticum spa for free that evening;
3. donate some staple, non-perishable food (like oil, flour, sugar, rice, dry pasta, canned food, etc.) for 300-400 HUFs as “registration fee” that the organising association: Debreceni Kilométerek will pass on to families in need.
Even if you do not do the running (and the free spa), you can participate in the charity: the organisers of the upcoming English Majors’ Week (EMW) – which the Santa Claus Charity Run will be an official part of – will collect donations on the IEAS corridor when selling tickets for EMW events. The deadline for non-runners' donations: 2 p.m. on 6 December.
To join the team (and to do the running and the spa), visit the registration website, enter your own data, choose “Angolos Agarak” team from the roll-down menu NOT LATER than midnight on 1 December.
Runners should bring their own “registration fee” to the running event centre. (Other IEAS-donations will be taken care of.)
And to do the challenge and the fun together: you can dress up as Santa (or something like that) for the run!
To see what it is all about, check out the event: or have a look at the merriment of last year’s Angolos Agarak team (or motley crew) on completion of the track.
