Call for Papers - US Politics and Media

írta: Papp Fruzsina
The ELTE Doctoral School of Literary Studies invites you to a conference on U.S. Politics and the Media. With the presidential elections only one and a half years away, 2019 is already shaping up to be an important campaign year. Increasing focus is being directed at the mainstream media and its effects on political issues. This attention is present not just in the United States, but in other countries all over the world. The goal of the conference is to discuss the different facets of the complex relationship the media has with US politics, both the changes the media has gone through in the past few years with the rise of the Internet and social media, and in the context of the U.S. elections. The conference will be bilingual, we are accepting proposals in both English and Hungarian. The topics discussed at the conference include, but are not limited to:

US news media
Politics and social media
The impact of the Internet on US political activism
The rhetoric of American media
