Borbála László, fourth-year PhD student of the Doctoral School of Literary and Cultural Studies at the University of Debrecen, is engaged in animal studies, that is, reading literary and cinematic texts from a more-than-human perspective. She is particularly interested in dog representations as well as their phenomenological, biopolitical and bioethical implications. In her research she attempts to map the cinematic traces and transformations of human-canine relationships in documentary and fiction films.
