Pál Csontos is a Language Instructor at the Dept. of English Langauge Pedagogy of the Institute of English and American Studies, University of Debrecen, Hungary. He gained his doctor universitatis degree (1995) from the same university. His main teaching and research areas include aspects of English and American English, business English terminology, interference between English and Hungarian, text comprehension, translation, interpreting, and academic writing and composition. Special academic interests include American literature and culture; multiculturalism: political and sexual correctness; American English: differences between British and American English; literature in the language classroom; Hunglish; translation and interpreting. In addition, he has served as the Hungarian Director of the Confucius Institute of the Faculty of Humanities, UD, since 2019.
