AN5201OMA Teaching Literature
The aim of this course is to explore the ways in which literature can be used in the language classroom, providing students with a variety of methods and activities that they can rely on as future teachers of English. Although the title of the course is “teaching literature,” it is mainly about “teaching English through literature.” Texts to be covered include short pieces of poetry, fiction, drama and film adaptations. Students are requested to read the assigned texts and watch the films in advance of the classes but there will be additional literary excerpts handed out in class. A link to the secondary resource and the films will be shared, along with some of the readings. Students are advised to bring their electronics to class for practical reasons.
