Éva Mathey has been teaching at the North American Department since 1998. Her major fields of research include the history and culture of the United States and the history of Hungarian-American relations with special emphasis on the period between the world wars. Her other academic interests include the theory and practice of American democracy, Hungarian-American travel literature, and women’s history.
