Réka Törzsök is a first-year PhD student in the British literature and culture subprogramme of the Doctoral School of Literary and Cultural Studies at the University of Debrecen. In her main doctoral research, she explores the representation of intersubjectivity in 20th-century Anglophone dystopian fiction, with a secondary project focusing on intersubjective dynamics in George Orwell’s novels. Her work has also encompassed research into literary representations of spirituality and physical violence, and narrative design in indie games. Her broader academic interests include the novels of Aldous Huxley, the oeuvre of Georges Bataille, utopian literature, as well as topics related to psychoanalysis and ethics. She is the student representative of the English and American studies specialised group of the István Hatvani College for Advanced Studies.
