Graham Derry
Graham Derry is a visiting English Language Fellow at the Institute of English and American Studies for the 2022-2023 academic year. Originally from Seattle, Washington, he has lived, studied, and taught in East Asia, Southeast Asia, Central Asia and the Middle East. He is a specialist in language acquisition, and is interested in the challenges students face in learning to pronounce a new language. He has communicative competence (B1) in Thai and Uzbek. He also has basic phonetic, grammatical and orthographic knowledge of Japanese, Spanish, and Arabic. He looks forward to studying Hungarian during his Fellowship.
