My main research interests lie in cross-cultural pragmatics, with a special focus on speech act theory and politeness theories. More specifically, I am interested in the inter- and intra-cultural variation in the linguistic production and assessment of (im)politeness in utterances and larger chunks of discourse across a variety of speech events. My latest publications include a paper in Journal of Politeness Research, a book review in Jouranl of Pragmatics, and a paper that is to appear soon in Internet Pragmatics.
