Zsófia Novák is an assistant lecturer and a PhD student at the Department of British Studies, Institute of English and American Studies, University of Debrecen. In her dissertation, she explores the implications of inter-creatural empathy in contemporary literature and cinema, focusing on relations between animals, humans, and (bio)technological entities. Her research interests include posthumanism, ecocriticism, animal studies and affect studies, as well as weird fiction and cinema.
