Her field of research and teaching is 19th- and 20th-century English literature, more specifically women writers' fiction and autobiography, which she interprets from the perspective of feminist and post-structuralist theories. She has published five monographs, seven edited volumes and more than one hundred articles and reviews both in Hungary and abroad; her literary translations are also significant. Her most recent monograph was written on cultural (self-)reflexivity in Virginia Woolf's writings of the thirties (Debrecen University Press, 2012 - in Hungarian). She is the head of the Gender Studies Centre and the president of the Hungarian Society for the Study of English.
